First aid

First aid

The greatest of blessings is saving those who are struggling for their lives. Many of us here have a desire to help others but how do we act in times of danger?

Lack of knowledge about what kind of first aid to give. Because of this, sometimes our fellow human beings suffer in front of our eyes; The cruelty of seeing people die.

What is the first aid to do to someone in times of danger? Here’s how to do it.

Sudden cardiac arrest

There are many differences between a heart attack and a sudden cardiac arrest.

Sudden cardiac arrest is a more serious problem than a heart attack. If this happens, death can be asymptomatic within minutes.

Heart attack or sudden cardiac arrest…how to find out?

If someone suddenly collapses and loses consciousness before our eyes, it could be sudden cardiac arrest. It was a waste of time to look at his arm, put his ear close to his heart and check for a murmur.

A person’s chance of dying increases by 10 percent every minute they experience sudden cardiac arrest. That is, the 10th minute he might die. Therefore, if there is no sensation, perform CPR (Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation) immediately.

C P R (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)

CPR is a method of artificial respiration. Place the victim on a flat surface immediately.

Don’t crowd around him. Let there be ventilation. First unbutton his shirt.

The base of the palm should be placed in the chest cavity where the two chest bones meet and the other hand should be placed on top of that hand and the two fingers should be drawn.

Apply deep and rapid pressure on the victim’s chest with both hands and release again. Press and release almost 100 times per minute.

CPR for children

In children, do not apply pressure with the bottom of the hand on the chest area. If the child is speechless and unconscious, lift the child’s chest with both hands and apply moderate pressure with both thumbs.

Within one minute, 30 times of pressure should be released, 30 times twice at the rate of mouth-to-mouth breathing, artificial respiration should be given.

Heart attack

When a heart attack occurs, there is a feeling of heaviness in the chest area. Not only in the chest but also in the neck and left arms, there will be pain, sweating and rapid breathing.

These are some of the symptoms of a heart attack. People with diabetes may not experience these symptoms.

It is always a good idea to keep an aspirin tablet at home. Aspirin, 75 mg tablet is available in our town. Aspirin is a biting type, there is a tablet called Dispirin, and a tablet called Clopidogrel should be kept.

If symptoms of a heart attack appear, take both aspirin/disprin and clopidogrel 300 mg each and go to the hospital immediately.

Pills like aspirin only prevent further blockages. This can only prevent sudden cardiac arrest and death from a heart attack.

Treatments like angiogram and angioplasty should be taken in the hospital to correct the blockage.

If you have symptoms of a heart attack, don’t walk fast, climb stairs, and drink soda.

This only increases the pain, not less. If you have a heart attack, it is wrong to delay thinking that you can consult someone and then go to the hospital.

Sudden bronchial obstruction

Some people get blocked airways after eating or suddenly. If someone has a blocked airway, the hand will automatically go to the neck area to point to it.

This signal is ‘Universal Sign’. If someone suddenly feels distressed with a hand on their neck, it could be a sudden airway obstruction.

First ask him if he has bronchiectasis. If he struggles and says yes, say well.

If he says yes because of his inability to speak, he should perform the Hemilich maneuver first aid.

Stand behind the victim. Place the left hand on his navel like a punch, now, place the right hand on top of the left hand and apply good upward pressure from the abdomen.

When we apply pressure , the food stuck in the trachea comes out.

Care is needed as there is a chance that the heart will stop beating within two to three minutes if the first aid is delayed.

Sudden bronchial obstruction in children

Children have a lot of problems with food stucks in the trachea. Because some babies swallow coins, peas, bananas etc. For this, some people hold babies upside down and pat them.

This is wrong; Do not do this. Hold the baby in one hand and press two fingers on its chest five times.

Then, turn the baby over and tap the back a few times with the palm of your hand.

Patting on the head does not help when choking occurs, some people put their finger in the baby’s mouth and try to get the food out.

Due to this, sometimes there is a possibility that the food gets pushed inside the trachea, so attention is needed.

Burns

Treat minor burns, scalding injuries, burns from bike silencers, etc., immediately with cold water or plain water.

If blisters occur, do not break them. For very minor burns, silver sulfatide ointments such as Bernal are sufficient.

In case of burns, do not put flour, turmeric, pen ink etc. on the burns. Giving drinking water is also wrong.

There is no need to wrap the body in wool and bring it to the hospital.
