Dhanush approaches HC after Aishwarya Rajinikanth – judge orders
On January 17, leading actor Dhanush and superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth announced their separation after 18 years of marriage.
The couple shares two sons, Yatra and Linga, and attempts at a union by elders of both families have not been successful.
Meanwhile, Dhanush and Aishwarya jointly produced ‘VIP’ in 2014 under their Wunderbar Films banner, which became one of the star’s most commercially successful films.
The Tamil Nadu People’s Tobacco Control Forum (TNPFTC) filed a case against the production company for not placing legal warnings against smoking in several scenes of the film.
The posters released showed Dhanush smoking, which was against the law.
Aishwarya Rajinikanth approached the Madras High Court a week ago seeking exemption from appearing in the case and quashing the case against her.
When the case came up for hearing today, Dhanush’s bench also raised the same plea that Justice N Satish Kumar gave to ‘The Gray Man’ star.
He further adjourned the case to August 10, accepting the counsel’s argument, saying, “These rules are for manufacturers of tobacco products,
Applies only to advertisements of suppliers or distributors and not to an image that fictionalizes the story”.
Actor Dhanush exempted from VIP film case
The Madras High Court has ordered that actor Dhanush be exempted from the case related to the smoking scenes in the movie Ajvamula Bhattadari.
It is alleged that the scenes in the movie Vip have been set in violation of the law.
Tamil Nadu People’s Organization for Tobacco Control complains to take action.
The court exempted Dhanush from appearing in the trial.
The Madras High Court has exempted actor Dhanush from appearing before the Saidapet court for the hearing of the case related to the smoking scenes in the movie Ajvamula Pattadaari.
In actor Dhanush’s movie Ajwavla Pattadhaari, the scenes have been set in violation of the ban and regulation of advertisement of cigarettes and tobacco products, and when there are scenes of actor Dhanush smoking in the film,
Action should be taken against the production company and the actor Dhanush for not displaying the warning text on the screen properly
A complaint was submitted to the Tamil Nadu government in July 2014 on behalf of the People’s Organization for Tamil Nadu Tobacco Control.
The Deputy Director of Public Health, who investigated the matter, filed a complaint against Aishwarya Rajinikanth and actor Dhanush in the Saidapet court.
The Saidapet Court had ordered both of them to appear for the investigation. In this case, it is requested to cancel the case in Saidapet court and request to stay the investigation.
The High Court heard the petition filed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth seeking exemption from appearance.
